The city’s distinction as Finland’s top entrepreneurial hub 14 times underscores its dynamic business environment, offering fertile ground for students interested in entrepreneurship alongside opportunities for employment.
As an international student in Finland, it’s crucial to have financial independence to focus on academic goals and to integrate into Finnish society without financial stress. An open and curious mind is also essential for connecting with people from different backgrounds and enthusiastically participating in various activities.
Part-time work, summer jobs, or traineeships serve as ways to connect with Finnish society, improve language skills, and earn additional income, while also helping to build important networks for future careers in the region. Finnish companies often offer summer jobs and traineeships that develop valuable skills and create pathways to future career opportunities. Securing part-time employment, summer jobs, or traineeships often requires active engagement with university job boards, local portals, networking, attending recruitment events, and visiting companies, enabling students to gain relevant experience aligned with their career aspirations while pursuing their education.
