SeAMK Radio has started broadcasts on Friday mornings

SeAMK has started to produce its own radio show, SeAMK Radio, as part of the SeAMK TALK podcast channel. A new radio show will be available on the SeAMK TALK channel on Spotify and Acast every Friday at 9.00.

SeAMK Radio will cover current topics at our university of applied sciences from the perspectives of students and staff. Some episodes will also appeal to other stakeholders (e.g., applicants, career changers, or companies and other organisations). The episodes are produced by SeAMK’s Marketing and Communications team. In many episodes, the hosts will be our interns, but other students and staff members will also have their voices heard.

“The goal of SeAMK Radio is openness, raising awareness, and making information visible in various media. We want to be easily accessible to both the SeAMK community and others interested in SeAMK. The aim is for the episodes to be easy to listen to and to include humour. Students are at the heart of SeAMK, so they can also participate in making SeAMK Radio if they wish. This is our shared SeAMK,” says Outi Kemppainen, Head of Marketing and Communications.

The length of each episode varies, with a minimum of about 10 minutes, but there is no set limit. The goal is a light, interactive, open, easy, and general language podcast. The format chosen for SeAMK Radio is a podcast, so it will remain available for listening later on the SeAMK TALK channel. SeAMK TALK can be listened to on Spotify and Acast on various platforms. SeAMK Radio is planned to be broadcast until early May, after which the series will take a summer break. Autumn episodes will be announced separately.

“The first episode was released on the channels on Friday, 28 February 2025, and it discusses continuous learning. The discussion features Annika Pöytälaakso, Manager of Continuous Learning, and Outi Rinta-Homi, Coordinator, with Janina Pohjonen, a student of Cultural Management and a trainee in Marketing and Communications,” says Joni-Petteri Tuhkanen, AV Producer from SeAMK’s Marketing and Communications team.

The members of the SeAMK community can participate in the recording of the shows if they wish. Some episodes will be produced as vodcasts, but only the highlights (e.g., short social media videos or YouTube shorts) will be published as video podcasts.

“The recording location will be either the corridor of Frami F or Kampustalo, as this also aims to engage our students in common themes and openness. A passing student can also ‘jump’ into the podcast discussion if they wish,” says Kemppainen.
