SeAMK International Days 2025 kicks off today

The SeAMK International Days 2025 event officially begins today, Tuesday, February 11th, with a comprehensive programme designed for international participants. The event welcomes teachers and staff members from partner universities worldwide.

This year, the event boasts an impressive turnout with participants from 13 different countries and 30 various higher education institutions. This diverse gathering aims to foster international collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas.

The event’s programme was kicked off with opening remarks and practical information by Ms. Marjo Arola, Head of SeAMK International Education Services. Followed by presentation on “Internationalisation as part of SeAMK’s strategy and operations” by Dr. Jaakko Hallilla, President/CEO of SeAMK.

“As you can see from the increasing number of international students at SeAMK we are growing quite rapidly. For us it’s really important to have close cooperation with you, our international partner network. Thank you for coming to Seinäjoki”, Dr. Jaakko Hallila says.

Today’s programme highlights

  • 09:00 – Registration and welcome coffee at the Frami F building lobby.
  • 09:30 – Opening remarks and practical information by Ms. Marjo Arola, Head of SeAMK International Education Services.
  • 09:40 – Presentation on “Internationalisation as part of SeAMK’s strategy and operations” by Dr. Jaakko Hallilla, President/CEO of SeAMK.
  • 10:15 – Parallel sessions on topics such as Digital Factory, promoting mobilities, and bridging cultures.
  • 11:30 – Keynote speech by Dr. Doris Fetscher on intercultural perspectives in teaching and learning.
  • 13:30 – Highlights from SeAMK’s RDI activities, including sustainability projects and innovation in entrepreneurship.
  • 14:30 – Guided visits to SeAMK laboratories and learning environments.
  • 17:30 – Bus transportation to a social evening at Kalajärvi, including a sauna experience and light evening snack.

Participants are encouraged to engage in the various sessions and networking opportunities provided throughout the day. The event promises to be a vibrant platform for building international partnerships and enhancing educational experiences.
