Food Business Challenge

The Food Business Challenge will be held again in 2025!

The Food Business Challenge idea competition seeks new innovations and business ideas  in all areas of the food chain!

The aim of the Food Business Challenge is to promote and highlight new ideas and business for the food industry. The competition takes into account the entire food sector from primary production all the way to the consumers’ plate. The competition is aimed at students studying at Finnish higher education institutions and they can participate regardless of their field of study. You can participate in the competition alone or as a team, in Finnish or in English. The theme of the competition is sustainable food solutions.

Participation in the competition is supported by the Food Business Challenge online implementation, in which the idea of the competition is approached through smaller sub-tasks to build up the final idea description. Sub-tasks describe e.g. the idea in more detailed way, reflect on it in terms of sustainability, and survey competitors, as well as what kind of expertise is required to implement the idea.

You get 2 credits for completing the online implementation and if the participant progresses to the final of the competition, you get 3 credits in total.

Registration for the online implementation and idea competition will open in September-October 2024!

The final of the Food Business Challenge idea competition will be held in Seinäjoki on Tuesday May 13th 2025 at Lakeus kokkaa -fair.
