Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences will organise a two-day E-Gaming Symposium seminar in February 2025, bringing together experts and students from the field.

The first seminar day will start with a theme of virtual racing, when Maria-Teresa Lahti will talk about Simucube’s innovations and Ville Malinen will discuss the role of sim racing in the media. After lunch, Bronwen Russell and Maria Ruotsalainen will talk about cheating in esports and Janus Pitkänen will present optimal training as part of esports. The day will end with a presentation by Igor Kholodov on the future of the industry and the development of related professions.

On the second day, Bart Van Eemeren will give an overview of esports as part of higher education, as he talks about a postgraduate degree in Esport Management in Belgium and Kimmo Kulmala, Veera Tähtinen and Alyson Müller presenting SeAMK Esports as a learning environment. At the end of the event, Jussi Rasku will talk about the development of indie games.

In SeAMK, the event is coordinated by lecturers Kimmo Kulmala and Cory Isaacs. Kimmo encourages everyone interested in the games industry to participate in the event.

– The aim of the seminar is to generate new ideas and create networks for interested parties. No previous experience in the field is necessary to attend. This seminar offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of esports and network with professionals in the field, says Kimmo.

The event will be held in English. Participation is free, but pre-registration is required. You can find the registration link and the detailed schedule of the days below!
