Application process
Applications will be processed in order of submission. To be admitted, the applicant must meet the eligibility criteria for their upper secondary degree and the applicant must also have a required proof of their English language skills.
If the applicant meets these criterias, they will be invited to take part in an interview where their motivation, aptitude for studies and English language skills will be evaluated. If the applicant succesfully passes the interview, they will be admitted to the degree programme they applied to.

Required documents
The applicant must attach the following documents to their application form, when applying:
1. Final educational certificate
Upload your final educational certificate to the application form when applying. Make sure to include all of the pages in the degree certificate that the degree was granted with, for example with the transcript of records etc.
2. Translation of your degree certificate
A copy of an authorized Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate must be provided, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. Authorized translations must include the signature and the stamp of the translator.
3. Proof of English language skills
When applying, attach a copy of your language skills test as well as other required information, in regards to your proof of English language skills, to your application form. A test number for example.
4. Identification documents
Attach a valid passport to your application form.
The following documents are accepted as proof of identity in SeAMK Direct Application:
- Passport
- EU/EEA identity card (issued by a European Union / EEA country)
All applicants must upload a valid passport or EU/EEA identity card to their application form. The required identification document must be valid through 7.5.2025. Please note, that your application form will not be taken into consideration in the admission process, if you don’t submit the required proof of identity when applying.

Interviews
Eligible applicants will be invited to take part in an interview. The interview will test the applicants motivation, aptitude for studies and English language skills. The interview will be evaluated pass or fail.
There are four (4) differrent interview schedules in the application period to which the eligible applicants will be invited to in the order of applications submitted.
Identity will be checked during the interview. Acceptable certificates include the following valid identity documents:
- passport
- Finnish identity card with a photo, issued by police
- Finnish driver’s licence
- another EU/EEA country identity card with a photo
Also, an expired passport or identity card is accepted if its validity has expired on 7.5.2025 or later.

Further information for applicants
How many times can I apply?
Applicant can only apply once and to only one degree programme. If the applicant tries to apply more than once, only the first application submitted will be taken into consideration.
Further information on attachments:
The applicant liable to attach all of the above mentioned required documents when applying. It is the applicants responsibility to make sure their eligibility can be verified from the documents they have submitted.
The applicant can modify their application until the application is taken for processing. No prior warning will be given to the applicant on when their application is processed.
SeAMK will not send request to deliver additional certificates or information if the applicant:
- Has failed to attach one or all of the required certificates to their application form
- The attached document does not fulfill the requirements to verify the ceritificate’s and/or document’s content or authenticity
