From the Degree Programme pages, you can access the Studyinfo website to find out more about the education, read the admission criteria and fill in the application form. Schedules for application and starting studies 

1. Fill out the application during the application period

Familiarise yourself with the details related to application and arrival in the admission criteria at Studyinfo. Fill out the application during the application period 28.4.-9.5.2025. Please note that the closing time for applications is 15.00 (UTC+3, Eastern European Summer Time) on the last day for applications.  You can access the application form directly from the websites of the degree programmes involved in the Application with Open UAS Studies. Fill out the application form on Studyinfo (Opens in a new window. Submit the required documents by the deadline indicated on the application form.

2. Possible interview

If an interview is organised for eligible candidates who have applied for the degree programme, it will take place between 28 and 30 May 2025. Any interview invitations will be sent by e-mail on 26 May 2025.

3. Student selections will be published on My Studyinfo service

Student selections will be published on My Studyinfo service by Friday, 13.6.2025. You can accept one higher education place for studies starting in the same academic term. 

4. Accept the study place on My Studyinfo service

Accept the study place on My Studyinfo service by Thursday, 31.7.2025 at 15:00 UTC+3. You will receive a confirmation email. Accepting a study place is binding. Read all instructions for new degree student on the page Information for new degree student(Opens in a new window.

5. Register as present or absent

Register as present or absent for the first academic year by Thursday, 31.7.2025 at 15:00 UTC+3.  Follow the instructions at My Studyinfo service. An accepted applicant can only register as absent for a statutory reason, see the instructions under Limited absences in the first academic year.(Opens in a new window

6. Beginning of studies

The studies begin in autumn 2025. 

  • Eligibility for the Application with Open UAS Studies

    You can apply to become a degree student at SEAMK if you have completed a certain number of studies at an open university of applied sciences (UAS) that are suitable for the degree you are applying for. You can have completed your studies at SEAMK or at another Finnish university of applied sciences.

    Find out more about the eligibility requirements for the bachelor’s and master’s degrees below and in the selection criteria for the subject of your application on Studyinfo. You can apply Application with Open UAS Studies even before you meet the whole eligibility criteria.

    Eligibility and suitability of previous studies are assessed as part of the application process. Preliminary eligibility will be assessed after the application deadline and, if you do not meet all the eligibility criteria at the application stage, you must be eligible by the deadline specified in the selection criteria. Therefore, annexes may be requested in two parts during the application process: for the initial eligibility assessment and for the eligibility check. SEAMK students do not need to submit attachments for their studies at the Open University of Applied Sciences, provided that the studies can be checked in Peppi service.

    Student admission is conditional until SEAMK has checked the information affecting the eligibility and selection of the accepted student. SEAMK may cancel the admission if the required documents are not submitted within the given deadline or if the accepted student has given incorrect information about himself/herself and would not be entitled to the place he/she has been offered on the basis of the correct information. A place of study may also be withdrawn after the start of studies.

    Credit points required for applications to the Bachelor´s Degree Programmes

    In Bachelor´s Degree Programmes eligibility is based on at least 45 credits of studies at an open university of applied sciences.

    Credit, basic education and work experience requirements for Master´s Degree Programme applications

    In the case of Master´s Degree Programme applications, eligibility for application consists of higher-level studies completed at an open university of applied sciences (UAS), as well as the basic education and sufficient work experience required for the application. The number of credits required for a Master’s degree is 10-15 credits. For detailed eligibility requirements, please see Studyinfo in the application details during the application time.

    Studies completed as a degree student at a university of applied sciences or university, in a specialisation studies, at an open university or studies from abroad are not accepted for applications to a Bachelor´s or Master´s Degree at Application with Open UAS studies.

  • Only in spring 2025 SEAMK Social and Health Services Pathway Student - apply for a degree student with 25 credits Open UAS studies

    This spring, you can apply to become a Sairaanhoitaja (AMK) or Terveydenhoitaja (AMK) student with 25 credits of SEAMK's UAS studies. Valid until spring 2025 and only in these two Degree Programmes taught in Finnish.

    In the spring 2025 Application with Open UAS studies, SEAMK’s Sairaanhoitaja (AMK) and Terveydenhoitaja (AMK) students can apply to become degree students earlier than usual. For the spring Application with Open UAS studies, applicants must have 25 credits of UAS studies that are suitable for the degree programme and have been registered in the study register by 31 July. Otherwise, and for pathway students in other fields, the credit point requirement is 45 credits.

    In the case of applying to Sairaanhoitaja (AMK) or Terveydenhoitaja (AMK) Degree Programme, applicants with at least 25 credits of studies completed as a SEAMK pathway student, approved in accordance with the pathway study plan of the course and registered in the credit register, are eligible to apply for the spring 2025 open call.

    The exception applies only to the eligibility requirements for the spring 2025 Application with Open UAS studies. The derogation is based on the additional funding for nursing education granted by the Ministry of Education and Culture to SEAMK for the 2025 admissions.

Requirements on health and functional capacity

The so-called SORA legislation applies to the degree leading to a professional higher education degree in the field of social and health care. These fields have requirements concerning the safety of minors, patient and client safety or traffic safety which restrict student admission. In these fields, it is required that health and functional capacity of approved applicants are such that they are able to take part in the practical assignments or training relating to studies. Tuition fees

Who needs to pay? Non-EU/EEA citizens, who confirm that they accept the study place in an English-taught Bachelor or Master degree programme are charged tuition fees.(Opens in a new window

There is no tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens, exchange students or double degree students. Please follow carefully the instructions provided to you.

  • Submit your application and attachments as per the given instructions on the application form in Studyinfo, within the given deadline.
  • Please pay attention to the residence permit process(Opens in a new window, tuition fees, arrival deadline and housing arrangements etc. Please note the consideration of their schedules are the responsibility of the person arriving to Seinäjoki as an international student.
